The Slow March of Light is a compelling book about a fascinating time in history—the Cold War and the construction of the Berlin Wall. Based on the true story of Bob Inama, who was drafted by the Army in 1859, it is an insightful look into turbulent times in a changing world.

The Long Slow March of Progress Rebel Storytellers

The Slow March of Light is so well written. I loved the format with the two different stories. It was difficult to decide which one I liked the best because I liked both of them so much. The characters are developed well, the story flows well, and I liked the writing style. The descriptions in the book make you feel like you are there.

The Slow March of Light I think this could have been a really good novel had the author had a bit more leeway with the truth, or if Bob had been a bit more forthcoming - He didn't read like a real person. The (mostly) fictitious female character seemed way more like an actual human being than Bob did. He didn't have any faults at all!

The Slow March of Light, by Heather Moore, is an historical novel, based on a true story and inspired by actual events. I was a toddler, living worlds away, when a wall of barbed wire was erected in the middle of the night, dividing one of the largest European cities, Berlin, into two very different countries; Soviet-occupied East Berlin, under.

The Slow March of Light was fascinating. At first, I wasn't sure if it would be up to the task of competing with the busy season of my life but thank goodness Heather Moore is a master! I was captivated by this true story and the real-life hero, Bob Inama. Once I got to know his character and the fictional character of Luisa, I couldn't.
